If you have a family law case or divorce in Hudson County, New Jersey, it is important to know a little bit about the Judge(s) who may decide your fate concerning family law issues and divorce. Regardless if you represent yourself, have a family law attorney or seek a new attorney, information is power. The Judges in Hudson County Family Court have broad discretion in deciding how to resolve your case. In family law, there are no smoking guns and the Judge’s impression of you are very important. Always be respectful of everyone in the courthouse, especially in the courtroom. Be on time, dress appropriately, and never cut-off a Judge or other party while they are speaking.  You will never see someone gain favor with a Judge from being late, rude or disrespectful, while on the other hand if you do the opposite: be on time, be nice, be polite, you only gain an advantage even if it is just a slight advantage, every thing counts in family court. The Artusa Law Firm is skilled in family law, domestic violence and divorce representation in Hudson County, New Jersey.

HOW IS THE ARTUSA LAW FIRM DIFFERENT?

I am a family law attorney now but I have been through family court myself, years before becoming an family law attorney. I have been on your side of the case, seeking answers, trying to find a way to make clients look their best in the eyes of the Judge, trying to understand how the family courts work. Trust me, I know very well and I am not just another lawyer. Would you hire a dentist that has never had a cavity? Who doesn’t know the pain and for that reason cannot really understand or respect it? I wouldn’t. I know the pain and care that is involved in a family law case, I know what it is like, what to fight for and what to move on from.

Below is a quick list of the Jurists that preside over family law matters in Hudson County as of September 3, 2015:

Presiding Judge Hudson County Family Court Maureen Mantineo- Judge Mantineo is the former presiding judge of the family part and now has become the presiding judge again. Prior to that she was hearing cases in the law division-civil part, now shes back and better than before agreeing with me on the record the family law docket is more important than the others! The Judge has a deep understanding of the issues in family law and the importance of these issues to the litigants. As of now, I believe she is helping with the divorce docket and domestic violence cases now that Judge Joseph Charles has retired. Judge Mantineo has been reassigned as the presiding Judge of the Family Part effective September 2015. Her courtroom is room number 202. Judge Mantineo also knows how to get to the heart of the issues in the case and knows how to respect litigants. Hudson County Family Law Attorney Santo Artusa and his team have years of experience before the Honorable Judge Mantineo in family law cases, contempt of court, violation of restraining orders, probation cases, child support, divorces, alimony and so forth.
